Released roadmaps are a communication tool that aims to replace static roadmaps created in Powerpoint, spreadsheets, Miro boards, etc.
Static roadmaps are time-consuming to create and outdated as soon as they are shared. But sharing a Jira roadmap directly isn't a great solution for a number of reasons.
Access – Not everyone can access Jira, especially when sharing your roadmap publicly.
Level of detail – Jira roadmaps are great for planning engineering work but often have too much detail for those outside the product team.
Not built for communication – There is no way for stakeholders or customers to ask questions or subscribe to updates.
Cross-project view – Unless you use Advanced Roadmaps, it's not possible to create cross-project views for Jira projects.
Released Roadmaps are made for communication. They are easy to create, easy to share and always up to date as they are based on your Jira issues. No more outdated PowerPoint presentation or duplicated roadmaps in 3rd party tools that are always out of date.
Released Roadmaps:
Simple, always up-to-date roadmaps, tailored to specific stakeholders.
Based on your Jira Software Epics, Stories and Tasks or Product Discovery Ideas.
Showing just the fields that matter to your audience.
Provide additional context, not just a board.
Built-in updates to keep everyone informed.
Customize columns and how your issues map to them. Select exactly which fields to show, and which to hide.
Select the issues you want to share. Filter by issue type, label, version, or use the full power of JQL (Jira Query Language) to create custom views.
Publish your roadmap to share it with your team, stakeholders or customers.
