# Connect to Forge Migration

## Overview

Hub is migrating from [Atlassian Connect](https://developer.atlassian.com/cloud/jira/platform/getting-started-with-connect/) to [Atlassian Forge](https://developer.atlassian.com/platform/forge/), Atlassian's modern app development platform.

## Current Status

Development of the Forge version of Hub is complete. We are currently in the final testing phase to ensure a smooth transition for all users.

The migration will be finalized by the **end of September 2026**.

## What is Forge?

Forge is Atlassian's next-generation platform for building Jira and Confluence apps. Compared to Connect, Forge offers:

- **Improved security** — app code runs inside Atlassian's infrastructure, reducing the attack surface
- **Better data residency** — data stays within Atlassian's environment
- **Simpler permissions model** — granular, declared permissions reviewed by Atlassian

## What This Means for You

The migration will happen automatically. You do not need to take any action — Hub will continue to work as normal before, during, and after the migration.

Your data, settings, and configurations will be fully preserved.
